Site construction approval is required for all land disturbing activities except for those activities (minor landscaping, single family residence construction, agriculture) outlined in Section 50-74 of the Cobb County Code. In addition to typical land disturbing activities (residential subdivisions, commercial or institutional development), approval is required for activities such as timber harvesting, borrow/fill sites, and speculative grading. Additional permitting may also be required by State and Federal agencies.
Site Inspections Sections
Once the construction documents are approved, a Land Disturbance Permit will be issued. This permit only allows for
the placement of initial sediment and erosion control devices. Upon a successful inspection of these controls, the
Site Inspections Section issues field permits for various site construction activities. Please view the
Erosion & Sediment page for more information on this division.
